YLAW - A parent, legal custodian, or caregiver may drop off an infant up to 72 hours old at any fire station, hospital that offers emergency services, or with emergency medical technicians with out any fear of prosecution. No information is required, but it may be volunteered.This directory is intended to provide a comprehensive listing of programs and services available to Seminole County families. Our goal is to enable families to have the knowledge and tools necessary to receive the services that meet their individual needs. Some of the information contained within the directory may not be supported in full by the individual member agencies. Crossroads Substance Abuse Program: Crossroad program is based on strategies, interventions and evidence-based practices that promote healing, recovery and enhance the quality of life. Individuals that abuse alcohol
and/or other drugs come from all walks of life, ethnic backgrounds, and socio-economic levels. Children with parents that abuse alcohol and/or other drugs are profoundly impacted and have a high probability of following in their parents’ foot-steps or becoming involved in protective services or removed from their homes and communities. The Crossroads program is designed to restore individuals to a productive and independent life and that those with or without children will become parents and individuals who are responsible and capable of making decisions that affect the well being of all family members.Detoxification: The Detoxification program is designed to support clients during withdrawal from alcohol and other drugs and usually lasts 3-5 days. Detoxification clients are assessed and continually monitored by qualified, experienced staff 24 hours a day. During the detoxification period we make every effort to engage the
